Fagu is a very small town at an altitude of 2450 m famous for it’s spectacular views of the mountains and fruits orchards. It is a nice getaway from Shimla city when it gets too crowded. It is a tiny village that lies along the Hindustan Tibet Road (NH 22) and is astride a mountain saddle. This unusual location gives this village a agnificent view of both sides of the hill. The views encompass both the northern and southern valleys and the sparking snow-clad peaks of the Himalaya. - By Rail : Kalka railway station is at a distance of 112 kms and lthe one at Chandigarh is 142 kms away. Connected by the Narrow- gauge Kalka — Shimia Heritage Railway , Shimia station is 25 kms away.
- By Road : Shimla is ata distance of 22 kms.
- By Air: Shimia (Jubbar Hatti) airport is 40 kms away while the one at Chandigarh is at a distance of 148 kms.
Summer is pleasant and cottons and light woollens are suggested. Winters are cold and heavy clothing is required. Through the rest of the year, light woollens and cottons are suggested.
- Fagu presents excellent views. Several forest walks and hikes are possible around Fagu. This is conveniently located for sightseeing at Kufri, Narkanda, Mashobra,’ Naldehra and Shimla. Drives on quiet back roads like the Fagu — Bekhalty — Mashobra stretch are possible. Excursions may be taken towards Himachal’s apple-growing heartland around Kotkhai or Kotgarh.
